Card #2 - OCTOBER 2nd - Just look at those legs!

Here’s a cute Halloween for the season.  I’m including a lot of images showing all the detail on this card.  First image in the front of the card and the second image is the inside of the card.

The following pictures show close up images of the detail of the card.  I hope these will be self explanatory.  There is a gem on the hatband.  The word ALWAYS is popped up.

There are 2 layers to the witches skirt.  One is black topped with the purple skirt.

There are 3 layers to the banner:  black, then purple, then white.

The legs consist of 2 layers.  The top piece is black with stars in it, the layer underneath is purple.

Wrap the black strip around the hatband
And then trim off excess

CARD #3 - OCTOBER 2ND - With Sympathy

This Card is pretty obvious as far as assembling it.  Unfortunately we all need Sympathy cards occasionally.

Card #4 - OCTOBER 2nd - Let’s go to the movies

And finally, here is the card in a box.  There are 3 inserts to this card, as well as a money holder on the back (cash is not included!).  Each layer consists of a red piece with the flaps that are glued inside the box, a white piece on top of the red, then more defining image.

The back insert is the camera, the Insert in front of the camera is the movie board, and the front insert is a popcorn box and drink cup.

I’ll show you the pieces of each insert and then show the insert completed.  You should assemble the inserts before you put them in the box.
There are 3 pieces to the camera layer

3 pieces to the movie board insert

And 9 pieces to the popcorn and soda layer

These are the 3 inserts once you’ve put your corresponding pieces together:

And here is the back of the box.
And the tickets which consist of 2 pieces:

With Sympathy

Hi everyone!

I literally threw this card together yesterday and I am so happy with the way it turned out!  We're doing sympathy cards at Mulberry Grove this Wednesday and this is one of my creations.  It uses the Bliss paper pack from CTMH which is absolutely beautiful paper to work with.  Enjoy!

All occasion card workshop

On Sunday, April 3rd, at 12:00 noon, I'm offering an all occasion card workshop at my house.  You will receive kits to make the following 12 cards on which you'll be stamping to create the background paper.  The cost of the class is $30.00 and space is limited to the first 16 individuals who sign up via email to me.  (Disclaimer:  I used the wrong green card stock on the green cards - the workshop will use the correct color - and I don't like the black ink on these cards - I may change this to an embossed white image.)

The stamp set used in the February Stamp of the Month from Close To My Heart.  This makes an awesome background stamp and if I have time between now and the date of the workshop, I might come up with other samples.  At the end of the workshop, I'll raffle off two of the stamp sets used at the workshop in a no-charge raffle.

A chip off the old block??

My sister, Margie, primarily designs scrapbook pages but occasionally, she likes to make special cards to send to special friends.  Her cards are usually nice ... but yesterday, she forwarded a picture to me of the latest card she made and it is a WOW!  Hope you like it as much as I do!

Simple but pretty card

I really like the way this card turned out.  I used the new CTMH paper pack called "Bliss" as well as the January Stamp of the Month for the butterfly.  The sentiment reads "A true friend remembers your birthday" and I finished the inside of the card ("but not your age") with the same paper punched with a Martha Stewart border punch.  I've already received an order for 5 of these cards from Rose in my office - now I just have to get them made!

Don't throw anything away!

My class this week at SCS is all about using up your scraps.  EVERY ONE of us has scraps!  I have four rooms of scraps in my house and feel bad about throwing anything away.  This first card simply uses 3 scalloped pieces of cardstock in coordinating colors, as well as a fourth piece for the envelope.  I cut the squares on my Cricut and punched the envelope out.  I really like the way this turned out - just imagine the possibilities!!

The second card uses 4 squares of coordinating paper matted on cardstock.  I punched the butterfly with the Martha Stewart butterfly punch and then covered it with CTMH glitter gel - it is so easy to work with and leaves a beautiful finish to your artwork.
This card uses 8 circles of double sided paper (CTMH of course!) folded to make a flower - easy to do!  Again, I cut all the circles on my Cricut.

One of the ladies in my class requested a "Get Well" Card - hope she likes this one.  It's really hard to see the embossing on all the white cardstock but I used a new embossing folder by Sizzix to criss-cross the paper.  And I used 130# white cardstock so the embossing is really, really deep - looks great in person.

Busy, busy weekend!

Well, it was a marathon this past weekend creating cards for my next class at Spruce Creek!  And speaking of a marathon, I spent all day Saturday watching the Glee Marathon on The Oxygen channel - that is such a fun, clean-cut program!

This is one of the cards I recently did at SCS.  I'll post my weekend creations later this week.

With Sympathy

Sympathy cards are tough to create - you don't want to be too frilly but you still want it to be pretty.  I think this one turned out perfect!

Where do all the hours in the day go???

It seems I never have enough time to do everything I'd like to (or have to) do.  As soon as I finish designing cards for one class, I've got to jump right to thinking about the next class!  The nice thing is when I can duplicate cards across classes.  The first two cards I'm doing at Mulberry Grove on Wednesday night - the theme is Valentine's Day and I had to modify my black and red card slightly.  Then I'm also repeating those two cards at Spruce Creek on Friday, along with the second two cards.  Hope you like them!

Men's Card

It's hard for me to create cards that are more suited for men than women but I think this one fills the bill.  What you can't see in the picture is all the white glitter all over the mountains and through the water, as well as all over the trees.  It really is a very pretty yet masculine card and I'm happy with the way it turned out - I hope you are too!

Happy Valentine's Day

During our class at Mulberry Grove, we will be doing 4 Valentine cards, two of which I've designed.  This is one of them and I must say, I'm very happy with it.  It reminds me of cards that we used to give one another when we were children (which, I must say, was a very looooooong time ago!).  Hope you like it!

Okay, so I missed a few days!

It's been pretty hectic at work so I did miss a few days of posting.  To make up for it, here is a card with matching corner bookmark that we did at Stonecrest yesterday.  Hope you like them.  Directions for the bookmark can be found at Splitcoaststampers.com.  I WILL be back tomorrow!

Love the way this turned out!

I made this card at Stonecrest yesterday and everyone seemed to like it.  The color of the leaves appears a little distorted here but in person, they match the flower.  I colored the flower myself (it started out white) by using a mixture of rubbing alcohol, Create-A-Shade paint from CTMH, and reinker which matches the cardstock I used on this card (Smoothie).  These is such as easy process and really adds to the overall look of the card.
Thanks for looking!

This card looks terrible in the picture!

In person, this is a pretty card although I will admit that the patterned paper colors don't match the blue of the cardstock and ink.  What can I say?  I've got lousy lighting at home and it looked great in that situation.  Plus, my scanner at work is really crappy - it doesn't close all the way so that's why this picture has a shadow on the right hand side.  Oh well, this one goes into the trash and I'll head back to the drawing board, although I do like the layout.

The medallion is made with a Martha Stewart corner punch.  This trick doesn't work with all of her corner punches and some of those that it does work with turn out very ugly medallions.  I really like this one!

My New Year's Resolution: At least one card a day!

I'm really trying to keep this blog active even if just for my own use.  It's a great place to show and store the cards I have made.  This first one is for Stonecrest this Sunday.  They requested a "male" card so I think this one may fill the bill:

And I just love the way the flower turned out on this one!  Hopefully, I didn't smash it too bad when I scanned the card:

And while I'm uploading photos, I might as well include one of my sweetie, Roscoe!

Thanks for looking!  More to come.

The cloud in my brain has passed!

I can't believe it has been more than a year since my last post here!  And so you ask, what's my excuse?  Actually, I have two excuses:  1)  Life got in the way, and 2) I had a brain fart ... I couldn't remember how to get into my account!  I know - lousy excuses but I promise to make up for my absence.

Here are a few cards I recently finished.  Hope you enjoy them.  And if you've seen on the news that Florida is the only state in the lower 48 that doesn't have snow on the ground, don't think "lucky Rita".  It was 24 degrees when I was driving to work this morning!  So the only reason we don't have snow is because it's too dry here!

The first is a simple card but more importantly, I finally got to play with my Cricut again!  What with the holidays and all the classes I've been preparing for and teaching, I just haven't had much time to play!  Inside it uses a new CTMH stamp "I didn't forget your birthday ... I'm just extending the celebration!".  Boy, can I relate to that sentiment!

It's a little hard to see on this one, but the white piece is embossed, using my Cuttlebug, and I cut the leaves on my Cricut.  Ain't tools great??.

Boy, I struggled with this one.  When I found the paper at a garage sale, I really liked it.  But once I started working with it, I found I just wasn't that crazy about it.  I used the Cricut to cut an oddly flapped card.  What I do love about the card are those cool new CTMH flower buttons!
So enjoy for now.  I'll be back soon ... now that I remember my password!

Christmas Card

This card was such fun to make!  It stands up by itself and is called a pedestal card.  I'll be making lots of these for Christmas.

BTW, ignore the fact that my tree is crooked!

Really goofy Thanksgiving card!

At one of the classes I teach, I was asked to make cards with a "candy" theme.  Since I don't have any stamps of candy, this is what I came up with.  It looks really odd in person - the turkey is too small and the candy corn is too large but hey --- I figured we'd have a good laugh over it.

Life Happens

Well, I finally got my camera hooked up to my computer and transferred all the photos of the recent cards I've designed. I was all set to transfer the photos here this past weekend but apparently, in hooking up the camera docking station, I did something to the mouse and couldn't get that to work. So, after crawling around on the floor under my desk, I finally got the mouse to work but now the keyboard doesn't work. Plus, my Cricut doesn't work! I had a Sunday class over in Stonecrest and after I got home from there, I tried to fix everything to no avail. I finally threw in the towel and gave up.

So, I'll try again tonight after I get everything ready for Wednesday's class. I can't live without my Cricut!

New projects coming soon!

I know, I know -- it's been a very long time since I posted. But that doesn't mean I've stopped creating - it just means that my digital camera went down the toilet (figuratively - not literally!). But I now have a new digital camera and once I figure out how to hook it up, I'll be all set to go! I've actually taken all the pictures, now I just have to get them on to my computer so I can get them posted here! I hope you'll like them and leave some feedback for me.

Classes are still going strong, I'm still working, and thoroughly enjoying creating. Of course, my house is still not being cleaned, laundry isn't being done, and dishes aren't being washed. Good thing I eat out most nights, otherwise, I'd have a ton of dishes to do. But at least I use my dishwasher (unlike a friend who shall remain nameless ... Donna: you know who she is!!).

Roscoe is fine and is still chasing Mr. Squirrel who travels across my Florida room screens several times a day (why do they do that?). He drives Roscoe absolutely nuts ... so much so that Roscoe charged the squirrel recently and broke through one of the windows in the Florida room. Finally found someone near my office that will fix it very reasonably.

So stay tuned ~ I promise I'll be back soon with my pictures.
