Relay for Life 2009
I finally got batteries for my lousy camera and decided to upload the pictures from this year's Relay for Life. Mike's Maintenance participated for the first time and we were awarded a Bronze Plaque for the amount of donations we received. It was a lot of fun - also A LOT of work - participating in the Relay.
Jerry and Linnea, both being cancer survivors, walked in the Survivor Lap with me, along with over 1000 other cancer survivors. It was very emotional and quite a sight to see! A big screen TV flashed the names of the survivors all night long - Jerry's was the only one of our names that I could catch.
So many employees of Mike's pitched in to help throughout the many months that preceeded the event itself: Rose and Paula did everything they could possibly do to make the event a success; Rob cooked his little a-- off from morning til night (we sold hotdogs and chili as a fundraiser); Kevin and his wife Connie, pitched in with both the yard sale and the Relay walk; Jan and Cris came to walk with me; and of course, Mike's and Denise's contribution (money!) was invaluable! Even little Megan (Rob's daughter) pitched in and was our 'cashier' at the event. Hope you enjoy these - you can click on each picture to get a better look!
